My name is DJ MacLeay. I was a basketball player at Reagan High School and later at Bucknell University. I had a successful career as a player, winning 2 district titles in high school and then 3 Patriot League Championships and an NCAA tournament appearance in 2017.
Immediately following college, I worked as an intern for the Philadelphia 76ers. After four years with the 76ers, I moved to the Boston Celtics. Now in my 2nd year in Boston, I have been fortunate to become an Assistant Coach for the team. Through my six years in the NBA, I have been lucky to accomplish the playoffs each year, a Finals run, and now we have been selected to coach the All-Star game for the 2nd time. (Good players and organizations had a lot more to do with this than me). Tony made a profound impact on my life during my time with him. He helped me improve as a player and as a man. I appreciate the time he invested in me, and I am very thankful he was willing to work with me. It was a privilege.
I started training with Tony as a high school athlete recovering from a knee injury that had resulted from significant muscle imbalances and weaknesses. He worked with me to improve those imbalances and become a better volleyball player and swimmer, focusing my training on injury prevention of injuries common in those sports and improving my athleticism to compete at a high level (vertical training, speed training, etc.). Tony also worked with me to improve my nutrition so that I would get the most out of my training. He considers the big picture with his clients to work towards their specific training goals, and the skills I learned with him helped me become a lifelong athlete who knows how to take care of her body! It has been a few years since I have worked with Tony since I am not local anymore, but I still use everything I learned from him today!
Coach Tony was my daughter's high school volleyball team's strength and conditioning coach. We liked him so much that we asked him to be her coach during the off-season because she wanted to be team captain, and he helped her achieve that goal. Clara also decided she wanted to try to get the Air Force ROTC National Scholarship, which requires a physical fitness test as part of the application. I am pleased to say that she is now a student at UCLA on a full scholarship with the Air Force ROTC program! Clara looked forward to working out with Tony, and their excellent working relationship helped her achieve her goal because push-ups and running were not on her list of fun things to do! However, he made it fun and helped her stay motivated, which is helping her to this day!

I came to Status 1 in the middle of my division 1 college soccer career, and had very little experience with personal training. Outside of team lifting or conditioning, my training had mostly been done on my own. Tony, created a program for me that left me feeling not just stronger but far more equipped to endure the rigors of a long season. I spent 2 years working with elite athletes that pushed me physically, and provided me the opportunity to compete at the highest level. At the end of the day I’d recommend status 1 to anyone looking to develop the skills, strength, and conditioning to set yourself up for success at levels you didn’t think you had within yourself.

Coach Tony Is the best fitness coach I’ve ever worked with! I coached sports at a Texas university, and he worked with all our athletes (including myself). I started working with Coach Tony in 2018 and continued through 2022. What began as a few sessions to improve my vertical turned into a year of strength and conditioning in which I immediately saw results. Coach Tony goes above and beyond to provide the best workout possible through motivation and challenge but cares personally for the success of each of his students, both in and out of the gym. Working with him made me the strongest I’ve ever been, and I had family, friends, and other coaches praising my progress. I’ve yet to meet another trainer like Coach Tony, and to this day, I model my workouts after what I learned from him.

I met Coach Tony in the fall of 2008. I started on his strength and conditioning program to prepare for independent baseball league spring training in 2009. He had me in the best shape of my life that season. I put up some of the best power numbers of my career when I was on his program during my off-seasons. Coach Tony has helped me immensely both during my playing career and beyond. I started working with Coach Tony when I was in High School; after having multiple different coaches for my sport ( Soccer ), he was the reason my strength and conditioning went to the next level. After working with Tony throughout high school, I went to play soccer in college at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Coach Tony trained me during the offseason and always put together workouts that would not cause extra wear and tear on my body (for example, Pool Workouts). In addition to my strength and conditioning, Tony helped me with my warm–up, stretching, and recovery habits. We developed a pre- and post-activity routine to reduce noncontact muscle and ligament injuries. As a result, I remained muscle/ligament injury free during my entire playing career.
